Playing the game

How do I play Rung?

Each day you get a start word and a goal word. Climb from one to the other by changing a single letter at a time, where every rung along the way must be a real word. Reach the goal in as few rungs as possible. The in-app tutorial walks you through your first climb.

What are the colored rungs and badges?

Colors show how common each move is: green is a common step, gold is a longer sideways step, and rare moves are the narrow paths few players find. Matching the shortest possible line is a clean win, and the top badge, First Ascent, is the shortest line that also passes through a rare word with no hints used.

How do hints work?

You get one free hint each day. You can earn more by watching an optional rewarded ad, or buy hint packs in the shop. When you run out, the hint button offers a quick way to get more.

Can I play past puzzles?

Yes. Rung has a back catalog of past daily puzzles in the Archive. Unlocking the Archive is a one-time in-app purchase that opens every past day.
Account and sync

Why do I need to sign in?

Signing in with Apple or Google lets Rung sync your streak and solve history across your devices, so your progress is never lost if you switch phones. We only receive your name and email, never your password.

How do I delete my account?

Open Rung, go to Settings, and tap Delete account. This permanently removes your account and synced history from our servers and cannot be undone. If you can't access the app, email support@orayaus.com from your account email and we'll handle it.

My streak or progress didn't sync.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple or Google account on both devices and have an internet connection. Open the app and let it finish syncing. If it still looks off, email us and we'll help.
Purchases and ads

I bought something but it didn't unlock.

Go to the in-app shop and tap Restore Purchases. This restores one-time purchases like Remove Ads and Archive. Consumable items such as hint packs are added to your balance when purchased and are used as you spend them.

How do I remove ads?

Buy Remove Ads in the shop to turn off banner and interstitial ads. Optional rewarded ads remain available if you choose to watch one for hints.

How do I get a refund?

All purchases are processed by the Apple App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request one. We're not able to issue App Store refunds directly, but email us if something went wrong and we'll do our best to help.
